Start With Your Project
How to choose between dumpster sizes
Start with the material list, then check the amount of room it is likely to occupy. A large piece of furniture and a small pile of dense building material affect your choice in different ways. A project name such as kitchen remodel or whole-house cleanout is only a starting point.
- Walk through the whole project. List bulky contents separately from flooring, fixtures and other building debris.
- Set aside items you will keep or donate. Ask about special-handling items before they go into the container.
- Measure the proposed placement area and describe the approach, gates, surface, slope and overhead obstacles.
- Choose the rental package around the work schedule. Confirm pickup access as well as delivery access.
Volume & Weight
Cubic yards and included tons answer different questions
The size in cubic yards describes nominal container volume. The included tonnage tells you how much disposal weight is covered by the rental package. Neither figure alone determines the correct container for a particular material.
Arsenal’s 10 and 15 yard packages both include 1 ton. The 20, 30 and 40 yard packages include 2, 3 and 4 tons respectively. Dense debris can use the included allowance before a container looks full. Bulky material can use up the available space while weighing less.
An included disposal allowance is a pricing term. The approved loading limit depends on the container and material. Call before loading concrete, brick, dirt, stone or other heavy debris so we can confirm the right arrangement.
10 vs. 15 yard dumpsters
Compare the 10 yard and 15 yard for a focused cleanout when volume and placement are the main questions. The 10 yard is approximately 11 feet long; the 15 yard is approximately 14 feet long. Both have a listed height of about 4 feet and include 1 ton.
Moving from 10 to 15 adds nominal volume without adding included disposal weight. Use your item list to decide whether the extra room is useful, then confirm actual dimensions and truck access.
15 vs. 20 yard dumpsters
The 20 yard adds nominal volume and includes 2 tons rather than the 15 yard’s 1 ton. It is also approximately 22 feet long, compared with 14 feet for the 15 yard. That makes placement a meaningful part of this decision.
If a cleanout is growing into a renovation, update the material list before sizing up. A larger container and a larger weight allowance may help, but the available space and approved materials still need to be checked.
20 vs. 30 vs. 40 yard dumpsters
All three have a published approximate length of 22 feet. The 20 yard is about 4 feet high, the 30 yard about 5.5 feet, and the 40 yard about 7.2 feet. They include 2, 3 and 4 tons of disposal weight respectively.
Compare the added vertical room with how you will load the material. The larger options can help with higher-volume approved debris, but they do not remove material restrictions or guarantee a dense load can fill the container. Confirm the actual width, dimensions and access for the available unit.
Know Your Package
Compare dumpster sizes and rental packages
Delivery, pickup and disposal up to the stated allowance are included in the package. Compare the same rental duration and your actual address when choosing a size. The Zone A examples above are a starting point, not a quote for every town or property.
Choose a 3, 5, 7, 10, 14 or 30 day rental. Each package has its own price. The $10 extra-day rate applies beyond your booked package; it does not set the price of the longer packages.
Extra weight is $245 per ton. Prepaid extra tonnage is $230 per ton. Additional days beyond your selected package are $10 per day. Special-item charges may apply, and credit-card fees apply. Review the complete quote before booking.

What dumpster size do I need for a house cleanout?
Start by listing the rooms and bulky items, then separate any renovation debris. A focused clear-out and an entire property full of contents can need different arrangements. Compare the sizes above or call with your material list.
Does moving up a dumpster size always add included weight?
No. Arsenal’s 10 and 15 yard packages both include 1 ton. The 20, 30 and 40 yard packages include 2, 3 and 4 tons respectively.
Are dumpster dimensions the same between companies?
Do not assume they are. Use the actual provider’s container dimensions and confirm the available unit and delivery clearance. A nominal cubic-yard size alone does not tell you the footprint.
Can I book the size I choose online?
Yes. Use Book Your Dumpster to enter the delivery address and review the available size, dates and quote. The booking page confirms the rental selection; the guide does not reserve a container. Call for contractor pricing or material and access questions.
